He Replied Just When I Was About to Delete My Account – and Changed Everything
When Ania created a profile on a dating site for believers, she thought it would be just another stage of searching—perhaps this time more conscious, since she had already tried many times to find someone who shared her values. Unfortunately, with each passing day, conversations quickly ended or turned into boring small talk, and she began to lose hope.
One evening, after yet another awkward conversation, she sat on the couch, looked at her phone screen, and thought: “Enough. I’ll delete the account. This is not for me.” These words felt heavy because it wasn’t just a click—it was closing a chapter she had put a lot of heart and prayer into.
But before she dared to take that step, she decided to check the last messages once more. And then she saw it—a new reply to her long-forgotten conversation. From Piotr. A man who had written with such tenderness and wisdom that she couldn’t believe he was answering now, after so many days of silence.
“Hello, Ania. Sorry for the late reply. Sometimes life takes us on different paths, but I believe God has a plan for us. I would like to get to know you better.”
Ania smiled, a bit surprised and deeply touched. She took a deep breath as if it were a breath of new hope.
The conversation blossomed slowly, like a flower needing time to open its petals. Piotr didn’t write hurriedly or throw words carelessly—each comment was thoughtful, full of faith and warmth. Ania felt he was someone who truly listens, understands, and respects what mattered to her.
In one of his first messages, he shared a quote from a Psalm: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Ania replied that these were her favorite words, often recalled in difficult moments. From then on, their talks revolved around spirituality, prayer, and daily life with God.
“Maybe we could meet for coffee? Near the church where I often attend Sunday Mass?” Piotr suggested.
Ania felt a mix of joy and slight nervousness. After so many failed attempts, could this be too good to be true? But the prayer she said that evening echoed stronger in her heart: “Lord, guide me if this is Your will.”
The meeting was warm and natural, like a conversation that had lasted for weeks. Shared laughter, reflections, moments of silence that were not awkward but full of understanding. Ania noticed that Piotr had something missing in her previous relationships—calm and certainty that together they could move forward.
Over the following weeks, their connection grew. Shared services, prayers, walks in the park with a Bible in hand, sometimes with a smile because Piotr knew jokes that eased tension. Ania learned to believe again—not only in God but also in people.
With Piotr, she felt it was possible to love and be loved without a mask. “Because God created us in His image—for love and joy,” he often said, and she began to truly believe it.
One evening, sitting together on a bench in front of the church, Ania confessed:
“You know, I almost deleted that account… I almost gave up hope. And now, thanks to you, I feel it was God’s plan.”
Piotr took her hand and replied with a smile:
“Maybe it’s a sign that sometimes you just need to wait a little longer, because God works when we give up.”
Their story was like a quiet prayer that suddenly turned into a song of love. And although many days lie ahead—both easy and hard—they knew they were walking together, under the care of the same, good God.
